Biography

I’m a first generation, third-year Political Science student. Born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico, but consider Palm Desert my second home after moving in 2017. Pursuing a career in law, with the goal too becoming either an immigration lawyer or a family lawyer. At UCSB, I love being a part of Kids In Nutrition and volunteering once a week to teach 1st graders about mindful eating habits, as well as working in the AS Office of the President. I’m passionate about helping other students navigate their college experience at UCSB and sharing resources that have enhanced mine. In my free time I like to drive and listen to music, explore Santa Barbara with my roomie, and FaceTime my best friend, Pamela. My favorite thing to do is attend concerts and music festivals with my friends.

What makes you proud to be a First-Gen college student?

I’m proud to be a First-Gen college student because it shows that my parents’ sacrifices and countless efforts have been worth it. I could have never dreamt of attending a university like UCSB, so it fills me with pride to know that with dedication, anything is possible, even when it felt like everything was at odds.
