Biography: 

Miranda is a fourth-year majoring in Psychological and Brain Sciences with a double minor in Applied Psychology and Theater. Originally from Los Angeles, she is a first-gen student and is striving towards completing her B.S. and eventually making her way to grad school. She is involved in cultural organizations and various campus communities, usually consisting of members of low-income or first-gen status. During her free time, she enjoys singing, photography, and watching Friends! Miranda is excited for her last year with the OSC as a lead peer mentor and can’t wait to help those in our UCSB community!

 

Advice for First-Generation College Students:

Be patient with yourself and give yourself the space and time to adjust to your new home! Don’t be afraid to go after anything and to try new things! Explore your interests and use your resources during your time at UCSB. Being first-generation means telling your story and having your own unique experience!
